Work Environment

Our rehabilitation center in Patchogue provides an onsite workspace designed for optimal patient engagement and recovery. With a focus on teamwork, our facilities enable Physical Therapists to engage with various healthcare specialists who support an integrated approach to treatment. Your administrative duties will be collaborative, ensuring that treatment plans align across disciplines for the best patient outcomes. The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 2 PM to 8 PM, providing a balanced work-life dynamic.

Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist at Burke Orthopedic Physical Therapy, you will:

• Manage therapeutic care for a diverse patient population by coordinating care with physicians, nursing staff, and rehabilitation aides.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to develop and implement individualized treatment plans aimed at achieving personalized rehabilitation goals.
• Utilize a variety of physical therapy modalities and techniques tailored to each patient's needs, ensuring adherence to the highest ethical and legal standards within your practice.
• Evaluate and document each patient's therapeutic progress and modify care plans as necessary to optimize recovery.
• Provide guidance and instruction to patients and their families regarding therapeutic exercises, equipment use, and overall wellness strategies.
• Take an active role in overseeing and prioritizing daily caseloads, collaborating with PTA and administrative staff to ensure effective patient care and staffing.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work primarily with orthopedic patients who may be recovering from surgery, injuries, or management of chronic conditions. Our diverse patient base requires a tailored approach to rehabilitation, focusing on enhancing mobility, reducing pain, and restoring function within both inpatient and outpatient settings. You will also engage with patients of various age groups, offering opportunities to utilize specialized techniques suited for both adults and children in recovery.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy.
• A valid license to practice as a Physical Therapist in New York State.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification or willingness to obtain within your first month of employment.
• A desire to learn and grow within the practice, as no prior experience is required.

Preferred Experience

While experience is not a requirement, candidates with a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree are strongly preferred. Familiarity with orthopedic conditions, manual therapy techniques, and patient communication strategies will be advantageous and considered as part of the candidate evaluation process.

Compensation and Benefits
