Product Master Consultant (Clinical R&D Data Management)

Location: Philadelphia, PA / New Jersey

Duration: contract (6-months+)

We are seeking an experienced Product Master Consultant to support a strategic data modernization initiative within a leading global pharmaceutical organization's Clinical Research & Development division. This is a highly visible role focused on establishing and improving Product Master Data Management practices across the product lifecycle, from molecules and raw materials through clinical product development. This position will play a key role in helping define best practices, improve data quality, and support the organization's broader master data and governance transformation efforts.

Responsibilities:

• Lead Product Master Data Management initiatives supporting Clinical R&D operations.
• Manage and govern product master data from early-stage molecules and raw materials through developed clinical products.
• Analyze current-state processes and identify opportunities for standardization, optimization, and modernization.
• Develop and implement best practices for product master data management and governance.
• Partner with business stakeholders, data teams, and leadership to drive data quality improvements.
• Provide strategic recommendations based on prior industry experience and proven methodologies.
• Support organizational change efforts related to evolving MDM processes and governance frameworks.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to establish scalable processes and operating models for product data management.
• Help prepare the organization for future MDM platform enhancements and modernization initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in Product Master Data Management within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
• Strong understanding of Clinical R&D data domains and product lifecycle management.
• Experience managing product master data upstream, including molecules, ingredients, formulations, and clinical product structures.
• Deep understanding of Data Governance principles, data quality, stewardship, and master data best practices.
• Proven ability to work directly with senior stakeholders and provide strategic recommendations.
• Strong analytical, process-oriented, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Master Data Management (MDM) platforms such as Reltio, Informatica MDM, SAP MDG, or similar solutions.
• Experience supporting large-scale data modernization or transformation initiatives.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled data management capabilities and emerging technologies.
• Consulting background or experience driving enterprise-wide data initiatives.
