Senior Scientist, siRNA Therapeutics & Delivery

AbbVie seeks a Senior Scientist to lead research on siRNA therapeutics and delivery platforms within its Biotherapeutics and Genetic Medicine department. The role involves designing experimental approaches, developing ex-hepatic delivery systems, and executing proof-of-concept studies to advance RNA-based therapies.
Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional research efforts to advance siRNA therapeutics for extrahepatic pipeline development
- Design and develop novel delivery platforms targeting tissues of interest
- Execute proof-of-concept experiments to validate scientific hypotheses and resolve technical challenges
- Develop in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo assays to evaluate siRNA candidates and delivery technologies
- Analyze multidisciplinary data and contribute to scientific publications, presentations, and patent applications
Requirements
- BS, MS, or PhD in molecular biology, RNA biology, cell biology, pharmaceutical sciences, or biomedical engineering
- 0–4+ years (PhD), 8–10+ years (MS), or 10–12+ years (BS) of relevant experience
- Hands-on expertise designing and executing in vitro and in vivo siRNA delivery platform studies
- Demonstrated expertise in siRNA therapeutics design, development, characterization, and optimization
- Proficiency with molecular and RNA biology techniques including qPCR, NGS, ELISA, Western blot, and flow cytometry
- Proven ability to develop, troubleshoot, and refine assays for sensitivity and reproducibility
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience in technical reports or publications
