Executive Director, Procurement Center of Excellence

Gilead Sciences seeks an Executive Director to lead its Procurement Center of Excellence from Foster City, California. This strategic role involves designing enterprise-wide procurement capabilities, establishing governance frameworks, overseeing digital transformation and supplier management platforms, and integrating ESG initiatives across global operations. The position requires experience in procurement strategy, technology enablement, analytics, and supplier performance management.
Responsibilities
- Define and lead global procurement strategy aligned to enterprise transformation priorities
- Own business strategy for end-to-end procurement technology ecosystem and digital transformation
- Lead centralized procurement analytics capability delivering insights on spend, savings, risk, and supplier performance
- Drive procurement-led ESG strategies including supplier sustainability and regulatory compliance
- Build and scale global procurement capability framework and develop senior procurement leaders
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 16+ years of relevant professional experience
- Master's degree with 14+ years of relevant professional experience
- PhD with 14+ years of relevant professional experience
- Experience leading global procurement teams and senior leaders
- Expertise in source-to-pay processes, procurement systems, and digital enablement
- Track record influencing senior stakeholders across Finance, IT, Legal, and business units
- Experience implementing advanced analytics, automation, or AI in procurement
