Luxury Finance (including Sotheby’s International Realty and Corcoran) is seeking an entry level Staff Accountant to join the Finance team located in New York City, NY. The ideal candidate is proactive, self-motivated, and driven—someone who consistently sets a high standard for their own performance and deliverables. This individual will help enhance operational efficiency while upholding a strong control environment. In this role, the Staff Accountant will report to an Accounting Manager under the Luxury Controller team and collaborate regularly with managers across the organization.ResponsibilitiesCoordinate with various departments/stakeholders to obtain the necessary support required to prepare and book journal entries timelyPerform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and analysis to share with stakeholders for key accountsResponsible for financial close activities including month-end journal entries and recording accruals as appropriateProcess Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and cash receiptsDesign, recommend, and implement modifications of accounting methods, procedures, forms, and recordsRespond to a variety of ad hoc initiatives, analysis, special projects as they ariseMaintain strong communication with personnel across departments and outside the company, including company executives and clients to maintain the proper processing, reporting and flow of informationAnalyze Income Statement and Balance Sheet to be able to "speak to" the numbers reportedPrepare ad-hoc reports and analysis as neededAssist with special projects as neededAssist team members as neededOther duties as assignedQualificationsMust have a Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Accounting preferredCPA or CPA candidate preferredStrong understanding of GAAP accounting & reportingExcellent analytical, problem solving and abstract reasoning skillsPossess strong task management, attention to detail, and prioritization skillsMust have excellent written and verbal communication skillsProficient in Microsoft Office suite with advanced Excel skillsAbility to multi-task and work independently with limited supervisionAbility to follow through on all assigned tasks and take on additional work as neededAnywhere Real Estate Inc.(NYSE: HOUS) is moving real estate to what's next.
