Outside Sales Consultant - Home Improvement

HomeStory Doors of Chicago | Chicagoland HomeStory Doors of Chicago is looking for an experienced Outside Sales Consultant to help homeowners transform their homes with beautiful new interior doors.
This is an in-home consultative sales position with scheduled appointments. Our internal team handles lead contact and appointment scheduling, allowing you to focus on what you do best: meeting with homeowners, presenting solutions, and closing sales.
We’re looking for a professional salesperson who builds trust quickly, communicates value clearly, and can confidently ask for the business without relying on high-pressure tactics.

What You’ll Do

• Meet with homeowners at scheduled appointments throughout Chicagoland.
• Understand their needs, style, budget, and project goals.
• Present HomeStory door options, pricing, installation, and value.
• Prepare accurate estimates, proposals, and agreements.
• Professionally handle questions and objections and ask for the sale.
• Follow up on open proposals and opportunities.
• Maintain accurate CRM records and coordinate a smooth project handoff to our internal team.

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years of successful consultative sales experience , preferably selling directly to homeowners.
• Home improvement or residential sales experience strongly preferred—windows, doors, remodeling, closets, flooring, cabinetry, roofing, HVAC, or similar.
• Strong communication, listening, and relationship-building skills.
• A proven ability to communicate value and close sales.
• Self-motivated, organized, and consistent with follow-up.
• Professional appearance and customer presence.
• Comfortable with CRM, email, text, calendars, and proposal tools.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout Chicagoland.

You’ll also have the support of our office, measurement, scheduling, and installation teams to help deliver a great experience from the initial appointment through installation.

Schedule
Full-time. Monday through Friday preferred, with occasional evening or Saturday appointments based on customer availability.
