Marketing Assistant-13-004-SC/San Diego KROC

Position Summary We are seeking a very junior, part‑time Marketing Assistant to support the Kroc Center Marketing Team. This entry‑level role is ideal for someone who is curious, eager to learn, and just getting started in marketing. The assistant will help with basic marketing tasks, observe the creative process in action, and gain hands‑on experience while in school or exploring a future in marketing. No extensive experience is required—just a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and an interest in marketing and communications. Essential Functions Work alongside the Marketing & Partnerships Director to create design solutions that have high visual impact. Design brand‑consistent print and digital collateral and produce social media content. General Responsibilities Ensure the most enjoyable experience for all RJKCCC guests. Maintain all public and restricted areas in a neat and clean fashion. Immediately rectify and/or report to appropriate staff any potentially unsafe conditions to ensure member and guest safety. Assist and direct guests in moving about the program areas to avoid crowded conditions and maximize service efficiency. Specific Responsibilities Develop RJKCCC program related content under the supervision of the Creative Lead. Uphold the mission and branding of The Salvation Army Kroc Center in all design and communications. Assist the marketing department with Center‑wide events by gathering necessary materials and supplies, taking photographs of the event, and coordinating marketing materials for the Kroc Center. Carry out the decisions and instructions given by your supervisor in accordance with Salvation Army policies and procedures. Perform other assignments/duties as directed. Working Conditions Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to lift up to 10 lbs. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead. Ability to operate computer, fax, and telephone. Minimum Qualifications Current progress in a Marketing College Program or equivalent experience preferred. Skills, Knowledge & Abilities Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud. Experience with Google Suite (Google Slides, Google Docs, and Google Sheets). Proficiency in Mac platform.
