Intake Coordinator- Infusion Pharmacy

Overview Amerita, Inc. is a leading provider in home infusion therapy. We are looking for an Intake Coordinator to join our Intake team as we grow to be one of the top home infusion providers in the country. The Intake Coordinator will report to the General Manager and work in our location branch. About Our Company Amerita is an entrepreneurial‑founded company and a wholly owned subsidiary of PharMerica. The home infusion market is positioned for rapid growth driven by the aging population, increase in chronic diseases, robust pipeline of infusible drugs coming to market, and an industry shift from hospital delivery settings to lower‑cost, high‑quality alternative providers such as Amerita. Role Summary As a core member of the Intake team, you will have primary responsibility for the timely clearance of new referrals. You will work in coordination with the sales and pharmacy teams to process patient referrals and admissions. Intake Coordinators gather necessary patient information to create patient records and work with Access Operations to communicate insurance coverage to patients and referral sources. You will be the first point of contact for patients and referral sources, creating and maintaining a positive, calm, and supportive atmosphere while emphasizing personal interest and compassion for our patients. Shift Monday‑Friday 8:30 am–5:00 pm Responsibilities Process referrals received from referral sources. Ensure all required documentation is received to process the referral promptly. Verify that all Intake referral checklists are complete. Enter patient demographic, clinical, insurance, and authorization information into the computer system. Coordinate with other departments, including Sales, Access, and clinical staff, regarding the status of referrals and any authorization requirements and out‑of‑pocket costs required to be collected before delivery. Ensure insurance verification is completed and that the patient has accepted financial responsibility prior to initial shipment. Complete documentation of progress notes in the computer system. Notify patients/caregivers regarding insurance coverage and payment responsibilities. Maintain confidentiality of patient and proprietary information. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required; Associate’s Degree or some college preferred. Experience working with all payer types, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance companies. Knowledge of insurance verification and pre‑certification procedures. Understand the scope of services that Amerita can provide. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Physical Requirements Performing this role requires constant sitting, standing, and typing on a keyboard with fingers, and occasionally walking, bending, and reaching. Physical requirements include the ability to push/pull and lift/carry 10‑30 lbs.
