Tallahassee, FL Position Overview and Responsibilities:
This is Planner II position in the Division of Air Resource Management's Office of Business Planning reporting to the Senior Management Analyst II. The primary responsibility of this position is to assist management on a variety of administrative matters, including purchasing, budget development and management support, budget and purchasing data tracking and presentation development, training development and documentation, and special projects.
Purchasing, P-CARD WORKS, MFMP, and ELFF
Serves as the Division's purchasing, P-Card, and MFMP reviewer. Prepares and/or reviews all purchase requisitions and supporting justification documents for processing and payment. Combining, evaluating, and reasoning with purchasing related information and data to make decisions and solve problems. These processes involve making decisions about the relative importance of information and choosing the best solution that best aligns with the department’s policies. Daily Operational Support
Execute and manage business operations by conducting and carrying out core work procedures aligned with strategic goals and provided directives. Responsibilities include training, process improvement, preparation, delivery, construction, integration, implementation, and completion of programs, systems, structures, and products, using both independent judgment and established operational guidelines. Establish and execute long-range business operations objectives by defining strategies, coordinating action plans, and aligning resources to achieve organizational goals. Develop and implement efficient methods to track and manage the training budget, while supporting training initiatives and travel requirements to ensure consistent, cost-effective execution across locations.
Reviews all division travel for supporting justification documents required for payment processing.
Special Projects and Other Duties
Provides comprehensive business operations support to Office of Business Planning staff and leadership, including execution of special projects, coordination of briefings, meetings, and workshops, and facilitation of day-to-day operational activities to ensure efficient planning, communication, and program delivery. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of office procedures and practices, purchasing, and P-Card management
Skilled in the use of a personal computer and general office equipment Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Ability to maintain orderly filing systems
Ability to plan goals, objectives and activities and schedule related tasks, use good organizational skills
Ability to work effectively with peers, management, industry and the public
Ability to be an effective, conscientious and respectful team member
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with others Minimum Qualifications: Valid Driver’s license
Travel on state business.
At least two years of verifiable related experience. Post-secondary degrees from an accredited college or university may be used as an alternative for the required two years of experience on a year-for-year basis. Position of Special Trust Requirement:
This position is designated as a Position of Special Trust in accordance with DEP Directive 422, Positions of Special Trust or Responsibility. Successful completion of background screening will be required for this position. Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge and/or experience you have processing purchase requisitions, invoices, or State of Florida P-Card transactions
Knowledge and/or experience you have using the following financial or procurement systems: MyFloridaMarketPlace, P-CARD WORKS, FLAIR, etc.
Knowledge and/or experience you have tracking budgets or preparing financial reports
Knowledge and/or experience you have supporting administrative or business operations functions
knowledge and/or experience you have coordinating training, travel, or meeting logistics Pay:
