Registered Nurse - Palliative Care / General Medicine Unit (4-1200) Shift Details

• 3x12-hour shifts
• 36 or 48 hours per week
• Rotating day, evening, and night shifts
• Includes weekends, holidays, and on-call per unit need

Unit Overview

• 4-1200 is a unit for patients age 18 and up with intensive symptom management needs at end of life
• The unit also cares for general medicine overflow patients
• Telemetry experience is NOT required

Role Responsibilities & Skills Required

• Strong IV skills
• Wound care skills
• Compassion and ability to manage patients with complex needs
• Ability to support families in crisis
• Astute assessment skills to advocate for patients who often can no longer speak for themselves

Required Qualifications

• NYS RN License (New York licenses only are accepted at this time)
• Two (2) years of recent palliative or acute med/surg experience
• BLS from the American Heart Association (AHA) only

Highly Desired Qualifications

• Experience with patient-controlled analgesia pumps
• CHPN certification
