Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at an acute care teaching hospital in Coon Rapids, MN, requiring at least 2 years of L&D and postpartum experience.

Details

• Work in the Mother Baby Center of a 258-bed acute care teaching hospital and Level 2 Trauma Center
• RNs rotate between Labor & Delivery and postpartum care
• Average daily census of approximately 8 deliveries per day and 15 postpartum patients per day
• Day and night shifts available on a 3x12 schedule (days: 0700–1930; nights: 1900–0730)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed
• Charting via Epic (Excellian); experience required
• No on-call responsibilities
• No block scheduling available

Requirements

• Active MN RN license required; pending license accepted
• Current certifications required: BLS and NRP
• Minimum 2 years of L&D experience with postpartum experience required
• Sterile vaginal exam experience required
• Fetal monitoring experience required: external and internal fetal monitoring, IUPC placement and calibration, and recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Experience administering Pitocin (oxytocin) required
• Experience managing and administering epidural anesthesia required
• Epic (Excellian) EMR experience required
• Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• 1 supervisor reference required for consideration

• Scrubs are provided by the unit
• No parking fees at this facility
• Pre-start online modules are required to be completed before the first day of work
• RTO of no more than 5 days is preferred
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates who were previously permanent staff or per diem employees must have been gone for at least 3 months from their last shift worked to be eligible
