Physician Assistant - Nurse Practioner - APP - Urgent Care

Candidates should expect to work at either location although we will try to keep you in one location if desired and compatible with the practice needs. We are open M-F 8-8 and SS 8-5. All candidates must be willing to work all shift types. As an APP, you will be examining patients, collecting patient medical history, and making tentative diagnoses on minor and major issues. You will also be reading diagnostic tests and reports, interpreting data, taking the time with each patient to explain their test results and medical diagnoses, and prescribing therapy or medication with a physician's approval. The ideal candidate has an excellent bedside manner, experience charting in a medical environment, and has strong communication and interpersonal skills. Responsibilities Examine each patient, take a detailed medical history, and chart everything medically important in their records Read test results, interpret data appropriately, and make diagnostic suggestions based on those results Explain to the patient test results and expected health outcomes Prescribe medication or therapy or perform procedures Work closely with nurses, other Physician Assistants, and Physicians to formulate a full, comprehensive treatment plan Qualifications Valid state licensing required Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Experience with medical terminology, charting, and diagnostic tests Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills We are open to new grads who are willing to go through a training program with our director. This would entail a lower starting compensation and odd hours until proficient in the clinic.
