HR Generalist

Search Solution Group is seeking a Human Resource Generalist on behalf of our client, a privately owned company specializing in full-service dining solutions. The Human Resource Generalist will support the Senior Human Resources Manager in managing day-to-day HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll, employee relations, offboarding, compliance, and employee development. This role will play an important part in ensuring a positive employee experience while maintaining accurate records and compliance with employment regulations. The Human Resource Generalist will support the Senior Human Resources Manager in managing day-to-day HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll, employee relations, offboarding, compliance, and employee development. This role will play an important part in ensuring a positive employee experience while maintaining accurate records and compliance with employment regulations. Key Responsibilities: Own and manage the new hire and onboarding process from offer acceptance through successful integration. Perform routine administrative and operational tasks supporting the HR department. Maintain accurate employee and HR files in accordance with legal retention and security requirements. Respond to employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, escalating complex or sensitive matters when appropriate. Participate in employee disciplinary meetings and workplace investigations. Own and coordinate the termination and offboarding process. Support payroll processing and related HR administration. Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Assist with reviewing and updating HR policies and practices to support compliance. Collaborate with the Senior Human Resources Manager to improve and streamline HR processes. Assist with employee training and development initiatives. Support employee relations, counseling, and other HR-related matters. Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and company information. Perform other HR duties and special projects as assigned. Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required. Experience: At least 5 years of human resources experience preferred. Experience supporting employee relations, onboarding, offboarding, payroll, and HR administration. Experience working with HRIS, payroll, and applicant tracking systems preferred. Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution abilities. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize responsibilities and delegate when appropriate. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Ability to quickly learn and navigate HRIS, payroll, and ATS systems. Certifications: SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred. Knowledge: Thorough understanding of human resources practices and procedures. Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Understanding of employee records management, retention, and confidentiality requirements. Knowledge of onboarding, offboarding, employee relations, payroll, and HR compliance processes. Collaboration: Works effectively with HR leadership, managers, and employees across the organization. Professionalism: Represents the HR department with a positive, approachable, and solutions-oriented attitude.
