Job Title

Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Location

Madison, WI | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days/Evenings | 12-hour and 8-hour shifts as needed | 0700–1930 or 1100–2330 | Weekend and holiday rotation required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity Emergency Department serving both adult and pediatric populations
• Float to other units as needed based on departmental staffing requirements
• Accurately identify and respond to critical cardiac rhythms and arrhythmias, including lethal rhythms
• Document patient care and clinical information using Epic EMR
• Participate in weekend and holiday rotation as scheduled

Required Qualifications

• Active Wisconsin RN license or Compact RN license required
• Minimum two (2) years of Emergency Department experience with adult and pediatric populations within the last three (3) years
• BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications (AHA only) required
• TNCC certification required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must pass a Telemetry competency exam prior to start (adult and pediatric components; passing score of 80% or higher with strict criteria for lethal rhythm identification)
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a Magnet-designated or academic medical center environment
• Familiarity with cardiac rhythm interpretation in both adult and pediatric populations
• Experience as a travel nurse in a high-volume Emergency Department
