In House Recruiter \u0026 Field Sales Team Lead

Our client, a water filtration manufacturer, is seeking an In House Recruiter & Field Sales Team Lead to join their team in Los Angeles, CA.




We are looking for a hands-on Sales & Recruiting Team Lead to build, train, and grow our Los Angeles-area dealer sales team. This is not a traditional desk-based recruiting position. You will be responsible for recruiting new sales representatives, training them, developing them into confident closers, and getting into the field with them until they can successfully run appointments independently. The ideal candidate knows how to build a team, identify sales talent, develop people, and create a culture of accountability and production.




1. RECRUIT & BUILD THE TEAM

• Work inbound recruiting leads generated through company advertising.
• Call, qualify, interview, and recruit prospective sales representatives.
• Conduct phone, Zoom, and in-person interviews.
• Identify individuals with strong sales potential and leadership ability.
• Coordinate factory visits and onboarding.
• Maintain an active recruiting pipeline.
• Continuously recruit so the team has a consistent flow of new talent.
• Help establish a strong culture of accountability, teamwork, and production.
• Identify potential future team leaders from within the sales organization.
• Build relationships with candidates and maintain communication throughout the recruiting process.

2. NURTURE & DEVELOP SALES REPRESENTATIVES

• Teach product knowledge and water-filtration fundamentals.
• Train representatives on the company sales process.
• Teach the sales presentation and closing process.
• Train representatives on how to conduct an in-home appointment.
• Practice presentations, objections, and closing techniques.
• Coach representatives through their first appointments.
• Identify weaknesses and create individual coaching plans.
• Help representatives develop confidence and consistency.
• Teach representatives how to generate their own sales opportunities.
• Monitor performance and provide ongoing feedback.
• Recognize high performers and help develop future leaders.

3. FIELD SALES TRAINING & RIDE-ALONGS

• Observe the representative's presentation.
• Demonstrate portions of the sales process when appropriate.
• Coach the representative before, during, and after appointments.
• Help identify missed opportunities.
• Correct sales techniques in real time.
• Teach objection handling and closing strategies.
• Conduct post-appointment reviews.
• Determine when a representative is ready to operate independently.

4. DEVELOP INDEPENDENT SALES REPRESENTATIVES

• Work company-provided leads.
• Generate their own leads.
• Prospect locally.
• Conduct consultations.
• Present products.
• Explain product benefits clearly.
• Handle customer objections.
• Follow up with prospects.
• Close sales.
• Maintain their pipeline.
• Build repeat and referral business.

5. TEAM LEADERSHIP

• Conduct regular team meetings.
• Review sales activity and results.
• Set expectations and goals.
• Coach underperforming representatives.
• Celebrate team wins.
• Identify high-potential representatives.
• Develop future team leaders.
• Help establish consistent sales processes.
• Keep representatives engaged and accountable.
• Communicate field feedback to management.

6. RECRUITING PIPELINE MANAGEMENT

• Follow up quickly with new recruiting leads.
• Track candidate conversations.
• Schedule interviews.
• Track candidate status.
• Maintain follow-up.
• Move qualified candidates through the recruiting process.
• Coordinate onboarding.
• Monitor new-representative progress

Experience in water filtration, solar, roofing, security, HVAC, home improvement, home services, or other direct/in-home sales industries is a strong plus.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 2+ years of door-to-door or direct sales experience - REQUIRED
• Previous sales training, coaching, recruiting, or leadership experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable conducting interviews and recruiting conversations.
• Comfortable conducting in-home sales appointments.
• Must be able to travel locally throughout Los Angeles / Santa Clarita.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must have reliable personal transportation / a vehicle.
• Must be willing to work in the field with sales representatives.
• Must be comfortable working in an in-person environment.
• Must be organized and capable of managing multiple candidates and sales representatives simultaneously.
