HR Specialist (Anticipated Opening)

The Community Charter School of Paterson is seeking an HR Specialist to join our School Community.

Reporting Relationship
The HR Specialist reports to the People Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities & Outcomes

• Employee Relations
  1. Serve as a point of contact for employees, addressing HR-related queries and concerns.
  2. Foster a positive and inclusive work environment by supporting conflict resolution and conducting investigations when necessary.
  3. Assist in the development and implementation of employee engagement initiatives.
• Benefits Administration
  
  1. Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other school-provided benefits.
  2. Educate employees on their benefits options and assist with enrollment and claims issues.
  3. Liaise with benefits providers to ensure timely and accurate administration of benefits.
• Compliance and Record-Keeping
  
  1. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
  2. Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, including personnel files and HR databases.
  3. Prepare and submit required reports and documentation to regulatory agencies as needed.
• HR Data Management
  
  1. Manage HR information systems (HRIS) to maintain accurate employee data.
  2. Generate reports and analyze HR metrics to support data-driven decision-making.
  3. Ensure data privacy and security in accordance with school policies and applicable laws.
• Training and Development
  
  1. Coordinate and facilitate professional development programs for staff.
  2. Assist in the creation and implementation of training materials and resources.
  3. Track employee training completion and maintain related records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a competitive college or university
• 2 - 3 years in education operations including but not limited to human resources, recruitment, finance etc.
