The Role

\n

Wells Enterprises currently has an opening for a Business Development Manager, calling primarily on Food Lion and Harris Teeter. The Business Development Manager leads the development of business solutions within an assigned geography. The main goal is to generate more revenue for the company while also achieving profit and trade spend objectives.

\n

What You’ll Do

\n
• Retail account development; Awareness of Customer Strategy and Performance; Knows customer policies and procedures.
\n
• Apply Cat Man principles; Converts data to insights; Uses insights to influence customer behavior; Demonstrates category knowledge and performance drivers; Awareness of key Consumer and Shopper Insights.
\n
• Volume Forecast Management.
\n
• P&L/ Trade Management.
\n
• Accounts Payable Management.
\n
• Annual joint business planning.
\n
• Monthly Business Reviews.
\n
• Asset management.
\n
• Arranging business meetings and one-on-one conversations with prospective customers.
\n
• Discover and explore new business opportunities with internal business case development.
\n
• Develop ways to improve the customer experience and build brand loyalty.

What You’ll Bring

\n

\n
• Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred.
\n
• Minimum of 4 years Account Selling experience with a CPG company required. Experience calling on Food Lion and/or Harris Teeter highly preferred.
\n
• Goal-oriented, organized team player.
\n
• Eager to expand the company with new sales by gaining new distribution in both region chains and independent customers.
\n
• Able to analyze data and sales statistics and translate results into better solutions.
\n
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
\n
• Able to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively.
\n
• Self-motivated and self-directed.
\n
• Experienced at preparing and presenting quarterly goals and forecasts for future projects.
\n
• Demonstrated and proven sales results.
\n
• Proficient computer skills; Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel).
