Manual Lathe Operator

Job Description Job Description About the Role: We are urgently hiring a Manual Lathe Operator to join our 1st shift production team. This is a critical position and we are looking for someone who can operate manual lathes and mills independently, read blueprints, and produce high-quality precision parts. If you have strong hands-on machining experience and want a long-term, stable opportunity — we want to meet you. Responsibilities Set up and operate manual vertical & horizontal turret lathes Support complementary equipment such as keyseaters, mills, presses, and saws Assist with CNC lathe, mill, and plasma cutting operations Use digital and dial readouts Read and interpret blueprints and production orders Measure, mark, cut, and finish parts to spec Verify tight tolerances using micrometers, calipers, gauges Perform deburring, cleanup, and final inspections Troubleshoot basic issues with manual machines Keep work area clean, organized, and safe Assist production team as needed to meet deadlines Qualifications 3 years of manual machining experience Strong experience machining steels: A36, 1018, 1045, 4140, 304, 316 Ability to read and interpret blueprints Ability to hold tight tolerances Comfortable using micrometers, calipers, indicators, gauges Ability to work independently and meet production standards Forklift experience preferred Work Environment Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise and heavy machinery Standing, lifting, and repetitive movement required Team-oriented, safety-focused environment Company Description Weller Metalworks is a private equity–backed manufacturing company with operations in the United States and Canada.
