Job Summary Project Manager: Critical Operations IT System Modernization
- Lead end-to-end delivery of a high-priority Operations IT project to modernize legacy systems (Ingres, OpenROAD) using AI-assisted development practices.
- Develop, maintain, and track project plans, schedules, milestones, dependencies, risks, and issues.
- Coordinate and align efforts among multiple cross-functional teams, including Operations, IT, cybersecurity, data, change management, and business stakeholders.
- Facilitate meetings, working sessions, and executive updates to drive progress and maintain project visibility.
- Drive accountability, ensuring deliverables are completed on time and within scope.
- Translate business needs into actionable project plans in partnership with technical leads and subject matter experts.
- Oversee legacy system discovery, modernization planning, and manage integration points, business rules, and transition strategies.
- Support responsible adoption and governance of AI-assisted tools throughout the development process.
- Identify risks early, escalate blockers, and recommend mitigation strategies as needed.
- Ensure smooth handoffs, comprehensive documentation, implementation readiness, and post-deployment support plans.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders, including executives and vendors.
- Utilize project management and collaboration tools (e.g., MS Project, Azure DevOps, Jira, Smartsheet, Teams, SharePoint).
- Operate in fast-paced, mission-critical, or operationally sensitive environments with a focus on delivery and communication.
- Preferred: Experience with AI-enabled development, legacy application modernization, regulated industries, and vendor management.
- Contractor role; requires proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative approach to keep complex projects organized, actionable, and on track.
