Assistant Controller

Our client is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join their well-established manufacturing organization in the Massillon area. This position will play a key role in overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls while partnering closely with plant leadership.

The ideal candidate brings a strong accounting foundation, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to connect financial performance with day-to-day manufacturing operations. Oversee daily accounting activities and support accurate, timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes

Prepare and review financial statements, general ledger activity, account reconciliations, and management reports

Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and variance analysis to support plant performance

Partner with plant leadership to analyze operating costs, identify trends, and recommend opportunities to improve profitability

Maintain strong internal controls, ensure compliance with GAAP, and support financial audits

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required

57+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong understanding of general accounting and financial reporting

Manufacturing or plant accounting experience preferred

CPA or CMA designation preferred
