DSP - Direct Support Professional

Responsibilities:Build and maintain a trusting and positive relationship with each individualEnsure the Individual’s needs and desires are met by completing goals and objectives in the ISPPrevent any acts of disrespect, abuse, neglect, or exploitation of the Individual and immediately report any such acts to your Qualified Professional (QP) and the applicable state/local agenciesDocument the Individual’s progress and report any unusual events or occurrences to your QPProvide transportation for the Individual to activities, consistent with the ISPCommunicate promptly and regularly with your QP about matters affecting the care of the Individual, as required by state law/regulations and the Independent Contractor AgreementIn the event of illness, injury, or death, immediately notify your QP or appropriate on-call staff, including after emergency medical/dental care is obtainedMaintain all information and records (including logs, notes, etc.) regarding an Individual in a confidential manner at all timesComplete daily notes thoroughly and in a timely manner (within 72 hours of service)Attend ISP, SIS, and Quarterly meetings as scheduledAttend and participate in all required training sessions (informational, safety, etc.)Call with 24-hour notice if cancelling or rescheduling meetings/visitsTurn in necessary documentation for compliance (insurance, First Aid/CPR, etc.)For DSPs that administer medications:Sign off on back of each page of MAR each monthSign off on MARs after giving any medicationSign off on PRN’s, document results on back of MAR (for each occasion)For Supported Employment (SE):Ensure all work required by the Employer is completed satisfactorily and efficientlyAssist and assure the Individual adheres to the policies and procedures of their workplaceEnsure the Individual is working as independently as possible using positive practicesThe DSP and Individual follow all safety guidelines established by Vintage Solutions and the specific job siteHigh School Diploma or GED EquivalentTraining in Core CompetenciesValid driver’s license, own reliable vehicle, and good driving recordAbility to communicate effectively (verbally and written)Comfortable with assisting individuals with hygiene and medical routinesOutstanding organizational and people skills #J-18808-Ljbffr Priority Dispatch Corp.
