Silvus Technologies is a wholly owned subsidiary of Motorola Solutions, Inc.## Job Description*Would you like to join an incredibly talented group of people, doing very challenging work, with the prime directive of “**Keeping Our Heroes Connected**”?*THE OPPORTUNITYSilvus is seeking a ***Buyer*** who will report to the *Supply Chain Manager* on the Supply Chain team. The successful individual in this role will be responsible for end-to-end ownership of material planning, purchasing execution, supplier coordination, and follow-through to ensure uninterrupted production and on-time delivery. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, supplier management experience, and the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.This position is based at Silvus Technologies’ Warehouse in the heart of vibrant **Culver City, CA**, and is on a hybrid schedule. A minimum of 3 days onsite per week is expected. On-site days are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.The following is a list of at least some of the current essential job functions of the position. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities at any time at its discretion.ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES* Take full ownership of the procurement process from demand planning through purchase order execution and post-delivery follow-through.* Analyze material requirements to support production requirements, inventory levels, and forecasts to ensure timely procurement of materials and manufacturing supplies.* Create and manage purchase requisitions and purchase orders while ensuring accuracy in pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules.* Monitor and expedite open orders to ensure on-time delivery of materials required for production.* Coordinate closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, Sales, and Shipping teams to support manufacturing operations and resolve material shortages.* Manage supplier relationships, including negotiations on pricing, lead times, delivery commitments, and service levels.* Track supplier performance and proactively resolve delivery, quality, and supply chain issues, escalating critical concerns to management as needed to minimize operational risk and ensure continuity of supply.* Ensure timely resolution of discrepancies related to shipments, invoices, returns, and non-conforming materials.* Maintain accurate procurement records, ERP/MRP system data, and inventory parameters. Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and supply chain optimization.* Support new product introductions (NPI) by sourcing components and coordinating supplier readiness.* Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.* Perform other related duties of which the above are representative.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS* Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Economics, Mathematics, Physics or related field, OR 3+ years of relevant experience in Supply Chain or Operations in a manufacturing or a related industry.* Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.* Excellent communication and follow-up skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.* Ability to work independently and take ownership in a fast-paced environment.* Production scheduling experience required.* Ability to work well with all levels of the organization.* **Must be a U.S. Person** (U.S. Citizen, or U.S. Permanent Resident) due to clients under U.S. federal contracts* **All employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check and drug test.**PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES* Knowledge of BOM structures, MRP/ERP systems and manufacturing planning processes.* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and procurement reporting tools.WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS* Office environment.* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to do the following: + Lift equipment up to 50 lbs. + Perform bending and reaching movements to place items on lower and higher shelves. + Kneeling or squatting to access lower shelves.COMPENSATION: $75,000 - $85,000 / annually#silvuscareersConsistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity.
