Shipping Coordinator

GENERAL SUMMARY The Shipping Coordinator is a multi-disciplined position that works collaboratively with inventory, shipping and receiving teams. The primary role of the Shipping Coordinator is the preparation and processing of all shipping paperwork, including packing lists, bills of lading, air waybills and other related documents. This position coordinates all LTL truck, UPS, FedEx and oceangoing and air freight. Additionally, the Shipping Coordinator manages all administrative aspects of receiving and shipping products at DeZURIK, including verifying and keeping record of incoming and outgoing shipments. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS) Prepare documentation for international and domestic orders. Maintain company compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws and regulations with domestic and international representatives. Coordinate customer order shipping activities of valves and parts. Analyze daily report of components and valve availability status to process to shipping floor. Consolidate items on an order with other areas in an effort to balance freight costs with customer requirements. Manage outgoing domestic and international shipments from pickup through delivery, using good working knowledge of air freight, sea freight, truck services, completing waybills for all modes of transportation, and employing strong customer service skills. Correctly interpret BOL's and extended shipping and receiving order descriptions. Work cooperatively with various departments to reconcile inventory issues and discrepancies. Provide proof of deliveries and any other pertinent delivery information. Knowledge of international shipping rules. Scanning documents using M-Files system and other administrative duties. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent 3-5 years of international shipping/export documentation and compliance experience Experience using ERP/MRP Software Understanding of manufacturing floor processes, including material flow, order movement, product identification, storage locations, and individual role responsibilities Valve product knowledge preferred KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word/Excel. Strong organizational, time management and problem-solving skills. Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. PHYSICAL DEMAND Physical demands are typical of an office position including extended periods of sitting, extensive use of a personal computer and telephone. Position requires movement around the facilities. Occasional handling of material and components. WORKING CONDITIONS Normal manufacturing and office environment. When working occasionally in some shop areas, personal protection equipment (PPE) will be recommended and/or required (safety shoes, safety glasses w/side shields, hearing protection, face shield, gloves, apron and boots). Must have the ability to support extended business hours to meet customer business needs.
