Program Lead II, Clinical Program Development (Director Level)

AbbVie seeks a Clinical Operations Program Director to lead clinical research program execution and development strategy for pipeline assets. The role combines operational expertise with strategic oversight of clinical studies while managing and mentoring a large clinical operations team across global programs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute clinical operational strategy aligned with asset strategy and science objectives
• Manage portfolio budgets ranging 20-200 million dollars and project resource timelines
• Lead cross-functional innovation and process improvement initiatives with significant business impact
• Directly supervise 4-15 study managers and manage up to 30 indirect staff with focus on career development
• Review clinical and regulatory documents and ensure program compliance with ICH/GCP and global regulations

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in nursing or scientific field; Associate's degree with R.N. and relevant experience acceptable
• 12+ years pharma or clinical research experience demonstrating technical and leadership competencies
• 10+ years clinical research experience managing multiple global studies through initiation to completion
• Demonstrated expertise in risk management, decision-making, and strategic execution
• Strong communication skills with proven coaching, mentoring, and people management abilities
• Subject matter expert in ICH, global regulations, ethics, and compliance standards
• Experience across multiple clinical trial phases (Phase I-IV) and primary data analysis
