Accountant – Business License Coordinator

 

Position Summary
The Accountant – Business License Coordinator is responsible for managing and maintaining business license compliance for a multi-location organization. This position ensures timely filing of licenses and annual reports, maintains accurate records, supports personal property tax compliance, and assists with tax audits.

 

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all state and local business license requirements.
• Prepare and process new business license applications.
• Complete and file annual and quarterly business license renewals by required deadlines.
• Track, receive, and distribute approved business licenses to District Managers and store locations.
• Maintain electronic business license records and filing systems.
• Communicate with Store Managers and District Managers regarding business license and personal property tax matters.
• Prepare and file annual corporate reports.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors by providing information needed for personal property tax filings.
• Assist with payment and tracking of personal property tax bills.
• Support tax management with information gathering and documentation for tax audits and compliance projects.

 

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience preparing business licenses, annual reports, or related compliance filings.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
