Staff Accountant

Position Summary The Cost Accountant position is an in‑office position in our manufacturing facility in the St. Louis. This role will be an integral part of the Finance and Accounting team, allowing opportunities to support business level reporting activities as well as ad‑hoc analysis to help drive critical business decisions through operational visibility. The successful candidate is a collaborative, self‑motivated, and an ambitious team member who is interested in learning every piece of our company’s Finance and Accounting responsibilities. Main Duties (in order of priority) Perform monthly accounting close and reporting activities in timely and accurate manner including preparing GL entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and cost accounting reporting. Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports and statements. Handle daily banking activities. Maintain customer tax exemption records, as well as file and remit monthly sales taxes to states. Support Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable. Identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency. Support Controller with reporting and analysis requests. Requirements Skills and Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting required. 1‑3 years of accounting experience. Strong understanding of accounting, finance, and management principles. Ability to understand multiple ERP and reporting systems. High level of efficiency and accuracy. Attention to detail and ability to analyze large amounts of data. Willingness to comply with local, state, federal, and company regulations. Excellent communication, written and presentation skills.
