Senior Scientist, Nonclinical Safety, Cell Therapy

Bristol Myers Squibb seeks a Senior Scientist to evaluate nonclinical safety for cell therapy programs, particularly ex vivo and in vivo CAR-T technologies. The role involves designing preclinical studies, developing in vitro models, and communicating findings to cross-functional teams in a laboratory-based Seattle position.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate ex vivo and in vivo CAR-T cell products and address toxicology challenges in engineered cell therapies
• Design and execute experiments to predict on- and off-target safety risks using cell and tissue-based models
• Develop innovative in vitro assays and molecular methods to support preclinical safety assessment
• Prepare technical reports and presentations communicating findings to project teams and collaborators
• Deliver short-term project milestones while advancing safety evaluation approaches for T-cell therapies

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 7+ years, Master's with 5+ years, or PhD with 2+ years of relevant experience
• Demonstrated scientific expertise through publication record and/or presentations
• Experience designing and interpreting in vitro functional assays for immunology or cell therapy programs
• Strong laboratory skills in cell and molecular biology techniques
• Proficiency with flow cytometry, ELISA, imaging, Western blotting, and molecular characterization methods
• Experience culturing primary human cells and mammalian cell lines
• Expertise in T-cell functional assays or gene editing approaches preferred

Compensation: $136,770 - $165,737 base
