Starting pay is $20. You will receive quarterly $0.50 per hour step increases during your first year of employment, bringing the pay rate to $22 by the end of your first year at RJW. Job Purpose The Quality Control Associate performs QC functions, including checking pallets for construction integrity, identifying mis‑picks and misplaced cases. The associate also works with Inventory Control Clerks to correct all errors and rebuild pallets. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Review individual orders to determine correct quantities, packing, and general accuracy. Complete required level of QC sampling and load audit forms. Consult with the appropriate Supervisor regarding any problems identified in the QC process, including quality issues not meeting standards and/or potential safety issues. Coach selectors on job quality and efficiency. Other duties and special projects as requested. Maintain good attendance. Maintain safe work practices. Safeguard confidential company information. Investigate customer complaints with the Supervisor. Perform driver check‑in duties by reviewing customer invoices for accuracy. Evaluate product returns and determine if product is acceptable to take back. Additional Responsibilities Involved in training for Inventory Control Clerks. Process damaged material, ensure returned goods are properly inventoried, and monitor suspense inventory. Maintain proper procedures throughout the warehouse by reporting incorrect practices to leadership. Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Ensure compliance with inventory processes, procedures, and contractual obligations. Physically count articles or products on shelves, racks, and pallets. Use computer terminals to account for inventory issues, returns, and documentation. Qualifications Minimum of one year of experience in a QC role and/or product knowledge. Experience using WMS software, a plus (Synapse preferred). PC literate with experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access. Education And/Or Experience Required High School Diploma or GED. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and write emails. Physical counting ability on shelves, racks, and pallets. Forklift certification a plus. Language Skills Sets Must effectively communicate, read, write, and speak English. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Reasoning Ability Solve practical problems and handle varied variables with limited standardization. Interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Determine root cause of problems and recommend corrective action. Computer Skills Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite for writing emails and creating reports. Physical Demands Occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 pounds. Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required. Activate phone systems utilizing keyboards and buttons. Communicate clearly in front of others. Work in indoor/office environment with repetitive hand motion. Talk, hear, stand, and walk frequently. Work more than continuous 8 hours when required. Operate under stressful situations with good cognitive skills and accuracy. Read and discern visual images on various media with corrected vision. Communicate clearly over telephones. Be in sound physical health as determined by a licensed physician with no controlled substance use. Work Environment Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles.
