Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg Tele

Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical Telemetry

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts with the option to pick up additional 8-hour shifts. Every other weekend required. Holiday requirements apply.

Assignment Details: Contract Length: 4 weeks Guaranteed Hours: Not specified

Requirements: - 2 years of clinical experience required - 1 year of experience in specialty required - Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (prior to starting), Telemetry certification preferred - Epic experience within the past 2 years required - Minimum of every other weekend availability

Roles & Responsibilities: - Provide direct patient care in a telemetry unit. - Monitor and interpret telemetry readings, responding promptly to changes in patient condition. - Administer medications and treatments as ordered by the physician. - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to plan and implement patient care. - Perform unit-specific procedures such as NG tube insertion and peripheral IV insertion. - Educate patients and families regarding health conditions and care plans.

Compliance / Notes: - A reliable vehicle is preferred due to housing options being up to 15 minutes away. - Free onsite parking is available. - Dress code includes professional scrubs; nurses may wear their own or use those provided. - Documentation system is Epic, and medication management is through Pyxis. - Floating required to similar units, but occurs infrequently.
