Step into a role where your technical skill keeps fast-moving restaurants running flawlessly. As a Colliers field technician dedicated to Chick-fil-A locations in your local market, you’ll operate with autonomy while being supported by a best-in-class service network, OEM partners, and our technical operations team.

A day in this role

Morning: You review service tickets, stock your organized vehicle, and head to your first Chick-fil-A. You diagnose a refrigeration issue, coordinate with the manufacturer for parts specs, and restore performance within SLA.

Midday: You consult with the Chick-fil-A Technical Assistance Team on a grill calibration, install ordered components, and document labor, parts, and time on your mobile app.

Afternoon: You complete a preventive maintenance visit, verify hot-side equipment performance, and close out accurate work orders before responding to an urgent HVAC call.

What you’ll tackle

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, install, and remove commercial kitchen equipment and related building systems.
• Service commercial cooking equipment, sealed-system refrigeration, specialty foodservice equipment, and base building HVAC.
• Meet Operator service requests within established SLAs and maintain productivity to company standards.
• Work on equipment brands such as Henny Penny, Follett, Lennox (HVAC), Traulsen, Hobart mixers, Champion dishwashers, and Garland Grill.
• Collaborate with manufacturers for diagnostic support and precise parts identification.
• Partner onsite with the Chick-fil-A Technical Assistance Team.
• Install ordered parts with professional workmanship and verify performance.
• Complete timely digital documentation: work orders, time, receipts, and truck stock inventory.
• Keep your service vehicle, tools, and parts meticulously organized.
• Support on-call emergency response outside standard hours.
• Follow safe work practices, lockout/tagout, and accident prevention procedures.
• Engage in continuous OEM training/certification and collaborate with suppliers and vendors.

You’ll support Chick-fil-A restaurants exclusively within a defined local market—enjoying independence in the field and robust technical and operational backing with the tools, resources, and training to succeed.

What you bring

• Technical trade school training and/or equivalent hands-on experience; 5+ years in a related trade.
• Background in one or more: sealed refrigeration/HVAC systems, electrical, mechanical systems, process controls, hot-side cooking equipment, or mechanical power transmission.
• Experience servicing kitchen equipment, facilities, or construction systems.
• EPA Universal Certification.
• Valid state driver’s license, proof of insurance, and a safe driving record (MVR required); able to safely operate company vehicles.
• Strong mechanical aptitude; expert troubleshooting; ability to read diagrams and schematics.
• Comfort with Microsoft Word, Excel, and mobile service applications.
• Clear written and verbal communication; self-starter who excels independently with a positive, service-first mindset.

Travel and schedule

• 100% travel within your local market.
• Limited overnight travel, primarily for onboarding and training.

Physical nature of the work

• Work extended periods during emergency or priority situations (including overtime).
• Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Climb ladders and stairs up to two stories (with ladder safety training) (Note: Roof access ladders are provided, van loading/unloading of a large ladder is non typical) .
• Frequent bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
• Stand and walk for extended periods on even and uneven surfaces.
• Frequent use of arms, wrists, and hands to operate tools and machinery.
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Tools, tech, and proficiencies

• Primary systems: Refrigeration/Cooling Systems.
• HVAC/R systems: maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Electrical troubleshooting and repair; equipment installation and wiring.
• Mechanical systems and component repair; machine safety inspections.
• Equipment diagnostics and field-service readiness; general maintenance and repair skills.
• Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and safe work practices.
