Growing together.The Sr Software Engineer must be AI Builder who can contribute to the development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of machine learning models and AI-powered systems for consumer-facing platforms, under the guidance of senior engineers.If you live near Basking Ridge, NJ, you will enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid-remote position* as you take on some tough challenges.This position follows a hybrid schedule with three in-office days per week.Primary Responsibilities:Design, implement and maintain NodeJS & Java application within all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)Develop, test, implement and maintain application software working with established processesExcellent analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting abilitiesCommunicate effectively with other engineers and all stakeholdersAbility to proficiently resolve technical issues through debuggingIdentify opportunities to fine-tune and optimize the applicationsWillingness to learn new technologies and software development practicesDesign, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions to address complex business challenges with emphasis on responsible use of AI You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Computer Science or IT related field6+ years of experience with applying object-oriented principles and recommended design patterns to create robust and scalable system designs5+ years of experience with developing the applications on NodeJS & Java platform (Spring Boot, REST Web Services, XML, Multi-threading, GraphQL)4+ years of experience with being proactive in identifying and escalating potential risks and impediments and coming up with alternative solutions4+ years of experience/knowledge on Docker3+ years of experience with Cloud based technologies such as AWS3+ years of experience with Micro-service Architecture3+ years of expertise with Junit or any other test framework3+ years of experience and understanding of Development processes and tools - Sonar, Jenkins, GitHub, CI/CD2+ years of experience working with MySQL or any other similar Database including writing complex join queries and SQL query tuning2+ years of experience with JMS messaging using any one platform MQ /Kafka streamingPreferred Qualifications: Experience working in teams following Agile development methodologiesFundamental knowledge of algorithms and data structuresProven ability to define and drive improvements in the overall quality including automation, code coverage etc.Proven ability to do POC on emerging tech stack*All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy.Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
