Work Schedule: 10:30pm to 7am, plus OT and weekends.

Note this is a Temp to Hire Opportunity!

The Sanitation Technician I primary tasks include cleaning production equipment, machines, and works areas in a food processing facility. Sanitation Technician I is responsible for handling and preparing cleaning chemicals, preparing sanitizers, preparing chemical concentrations, and handling and storing the chemicals.

Key Responsibilities

• Cleaning and sanitizing production equipment following COP (cleaning out of place).
• Use water, chemicals, and sanitizer to clean and sanitize equipment and production rooms daily. Disassemble, reassemble, and sanitize equipment. Cleaning equipment and machinery.
• Ensure equipment passes pre-operating inspections and re-clean as needed.
• Ensure Food Safety and Regulatory requirements are met.
• Store and organize cleaning and sanitizing equipment properly.
• Report all equipment problems to Supervisors and to Leads to ensure equipment is operating properly each shift.
• Perform limited non-sanitation tasks as assigned to ensure the area is sanitized and food safety procedures are followed.
• Perform specific sanitation duties as assigned by Supervisor; based on the required cleaning needs everyday.
• Must follow plant safety guidelines and wear PPE when cleaning.
• Lock out machinery that is being cleaned.
• Submit required information/forms to the Sanitation Supervisor.
• Follow all OSHA safety guidelines required by company.
• Comply with GMP and Food safety guidelines.
• Wear specified company provided protective gear at all times.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

• 1 year(s) sanitation experience.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Must be able to push, pull, drag, bend, lean and twist from the waist.
• High school diploma/GED required.
• Ability to work well under minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail
• Must be able to read and willing to follow the procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, to prevent damage to floors and work safely
