Therapist - Speech Language Pathologist

Job Summary:

The Speech Language Pathologist collaborates with residents and healthcare teams to deliver comprehensive speech and swallowing therapy aimed at improving communication and functional independence. This role involves evaluations, treatment planning, and education to support residents' needs.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Perform evaluative and therapeutic procedures for communication disorders and dysphagia, including modified barium swallow assessments.
  
  
• 
  Develop and implement individualized care plans with short-term and long-term goals, adjusting as needed based on resident progress.
  
  
• 
  Consult with physicians and care team members regarding therapeutic interventions, discharge planning, and resident progress.
  
  
• 
  Document all clinical interactions and treatment outcomes clearly, ensuring accessibility for the care team.
  
  
• 
  Educate residents and caregivers on communication and swallowing devices, providing instruction on their use.
  
  
• 
  Ensure infection control procedures are followed and maintain a clean, organized clinical and office environment.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold a Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  
  
• 
  Possess a valid Speech-Language Pathologist license and Certificate of Clinical Competence.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate strong communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills.
  
  
• 
  Have prior experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting preferred.
  
  
• 
  Maintain current BLS certification (preferred).
