BACKGROUND

League One Volleyball (LOVB) is a national volleyball organization connecting youth clubs and professional competition within one ecosystem. Since launching its professional league in 2025, LOVB has worked to expand opportunities for athletes, grow the sport’s audience, and build a lasting future for women’s volleyball. LOVB Salt Lake City is part of that vision, bringing professional volleyball to Utah and creating an opportunity to deepen connections with fans and the local community.

Following Synergy Sports Capital’s acquisition of the team’s operating rights, we are seeking a dynamic, entrepreneurial, and strategic executive to serve as President of LOVB Salt Lake City. This foundational leader will build and scale the franchise, establish its presence across Utah, and drive its long-term commercial success.

SUMMARY

The President will serve as the primary face of the organization in the Salt Lake City community, embodying a culture of integrity, respect, and excellence. This executive will lead the creation and execution of the annual business plan, drive key performance indicators, and deliver leap-step growth in paid attendance, sponsorship revenue, ticketing, merchandise sales, digital engagement, social media metrics, and overall brand strength.

The ideal candidate is a proven leader with deep experience in consumer-facing sports, entertainment, or media businesses, who excels at building high-performing teams, cultivating corporate partnerships, and creating memorable game-day experiences that turn fans into lifelong supporters.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Demonstrate full ownership of the franchise P&L with exceptional business acumen, driving revenue growth across sponsorships, ticketing, merchandise, and premium experiences while managing costs effectively.
• Shape and inspire a high-performance company culture through servant leadership that reflects the vision, core values, and ideals of Synergy Sports Capital, the players, and the entire LOVB Salt Lake City organization.
• Collaborate closely with Synergy Sports Capital ownership to develop and deliver timely, accurate, and insightful financial and operational reporting.
• Build, hire, train, and lead a diverse, high-performing team committed to establishing LOVB Salt Lake City as the premier franchise in the league.
• Drive ambitious sales, profitability, marketing, and operational goals to set the standard for league-wide excellence.
• Design and execute strategic sales plans focused on sponsorship development, ticketing (full season, partial plans, groups, and single game), and merchandise to achieve aggressive annual and long-term revenue and profitability targets.
• Lead sponsorship strategy by identifying, cultivating, and partnering with corporate sponsors to create high-value, co-branded marketing and promotional initiatives that maximize partnership ROI and fan engagement.
• Formulate and implement a comprehensive, integrated marketing strategy—including digital, social media, content, and traditional channels—to dramatically increase brand recognition, fan loyalty, and community visibility across the Salt Lake Valley and greater Utah.
• Create and deliver exceptional game-day atmosphere and fan experiences that make attending LOVB Salt Lake City matches unforgettable, driving repeat attendance and organic word-of-mouth growth.
• Develop robust metrics and analytics frameworks to monitor performance across all areas (attendance, revenue streams, social/digital engagement, customer satisfaction) and continuously optimize operations.
• Foster a success-oriented, accountable, inclusive, and high-energy environment across the entire organization.
• Lead community engagement efforts in partnership with ownership, empowering the community relations team to build meaningful local impact, strengthen ties with Utah stakeholders, and position LOVB Salt Lake City as a cornerstone of the community.
• Support grassroots programs that build fan affinity, attract new supporters, and deepen connections throughout the Salt Lake City metro area.
• Oversee and optimize the team’s website, digital platforms, and e-commerce presence to enhance fan experience, drive ticket and merchandise sales, and strengthen brand storytelling.
• Play a key role in identifying and evaluating potential real estate sites for a mixed-use stadium slides district development, working closely with ownership, developers, and local government stakeholders to create a transformative sports-anchored entertainment and community hub in Salt Lake City.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience with a strong emphasis in consumer-facing sports, media, entertainment, or high-growth consumer brands.
• Demonstrated success in significantly increasing revenue (particularly through sponsorships, ticketing, and merchandise), generating brand energy, and scaling operations in a start-up or high-growth environment.
• Proven ability to build, develop, and lead diverse, best-in-class teams that embrace excellence, innovation, and an “owner’s mindset.”
• Deep expertise in modern marketing, digital technology, social media, and e-commerce trends, with a strong understanding of the broader sports, entertainment, and media landscape.
• Experience creating and delivering compelling game-day atmospheres and fan-first experiences that drive attendance and loyalty.
• Strong strategic and financial acumen, including hands‑on P&L responsibility and the ability to transform businesses exponentially rather than incrementally.
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with a track record of cultivating cultures of integrity, respect, achievement, and inclusivity.
• Community-centric mindset with a passion for engaging local stakeholders, building lasting fan connections, and making a genuine difference in the Salt Lake City / Utah market.
• Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders, including ownership, league office, community leaders, government officials, and corporate partners.
• Exceptional communication skills, including public speaking, media relations, business development, and serving as the primary ambassador for the franchise.
• Self-starter with high energy, resilience, and an internally motivated, competitive drive to achieve ambitious goals and meet tight timelines.

• Connections to the Salt Lake City / Utah market are a significant plus but not required.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; Master’s degree or MBA strongly preferred.
