Group Sales Manager (Remote/Hybrid)

About Alila Ventana Big Sur Alila Ventana Big Sur is an ultra-luxury resort by Hyatt, set within the iconic landscape of Big Sur, California. As a Two Michelin Key resort, Ventana delivers refined outdoor experiences, elevated service, and a deeply immersive sense of place. Our group and event business reflects this positioning. We specialize in intimate, high-touch experiences including executive retreats, full resort buyouts, weddings, and bespoke celebrations. Every event is designed with intention and executed with precision. Job Overview As Group Sales Manager, you are responsible for and accountable to driving group and event revenue across corporate and social segments. This role focuses on securing high-value, high-rated business including executive retreats, incentive programs, weddings, and exclusive buyouts. You will proactively source new business, convert qualified leads, and build strong relationships with decision-makers. Success in this role requires a disciplined sales approach, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to consistently close premium-rated business in a luxury environment. The role carries a sales quota, and the manager is responsible for meeting or exceeding the assigned revenue target. Key Responsibilities Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and execute targeted strategies to achieve group revenue goals, with focus on high-rated corporate retreats, incentive programs, and private events. Business Development: Proactively identify and secure new business across key feeder markets and emerging segments. Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with planners, corporate decision-makers, and luxury travel intermediaries. Lead Management: Manage inbound lead flow with disciplined response times, follow‑up, and conversion focus. Negotiation & Contracting: Structure and close deals that align with rate integrity and overall resort strategy. Market Intelligence: Monitor trends, competitor positioning, and demand patterns to inform strategy. Commercial Alignment: Partner with Sales Leadership and Revenue Management to optimize pricing, mix, and total revenue contribution. Compensation and Benefits The compensation range for this position is $75,000 - $95,000. Qualifications Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in luxury hospitality sales, with demonstrable success closing high value group business in high-ADR (+$1,000) environments Commercial Performance: Proven ability to meet or exceed revenue targets and manage a defined sales quota. Sales Skills: Strong negotiation, influencing, and closing capabilities with complex, high-touch clients. Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of luxury customer expectations and group dynamics. Work Style: Self-directed, proactive, and results-driven with strong organizational discipline. Systems: Proficiency in CRM and sales systems.
