Development Director

Description Ground Up Ministries is a faith-based nonprofit providing residential care and developmental support for adolescent girls who have experienced human trafficking. Grounded in dignity and trauma-responsive care, our mission is to empower young people with the skills, confidence, and relationships needed to build a secure, independent future. Position Summary The Development Director leads Ground Up Ministries' fundraising, resource development, and sustainability efforts. Reporting to the Executive Director and collaborating with the Board of Directors, this role designs and executes a multi-channel revenue strategy spanning major donor cultivation, individual giving, institutional grants, corporate sponsorships, and fundraising events. Key Responsibilities Fundraising Strategy: Design and execute an annual development plan with clear goals; diversify revenue streams through annual, recurring, and major gift strategies. Donor Relations: Cultivate and steward relationships with individual and major donors; oversee donor communications, recognition, accurate record-keeping, and impact reporting. Corporate & Community Partnerships: Build strategic partnerships with businesses, foundations, churches, and civic groups to secure financial contributions, sponsorships, and in-kind support while raising community awareness. Grants & Institutional Funding: Identify, write, and submit grant proposals in collaboration with program leadership; manage submission deadlines, reporting compliance, and budget narratives. Events & Campaigns: Oversee fundraising events and donor campaigns from planning to execution; evaluate outcomes, coordinate volunteer and sponsorship support, and drive donor retention. Leadership & Governance: Partner with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to report on revenue projections, uphold ethical fundraising practices, and ensure all communications strictly protect resident privacy and dignity. Qualifications Required: Demonstrated experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, donor relations, or a related field. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience building professional relationships and securing financial support. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Ability to create and implement measurable fundraising strategies. Commitment to ethical storytelling, confidentiality, and donor stewardship. Preferred: Bachelors degree in nonprofit management, communications, business, marketing, or a related field. Experience securing major gifts or managing a donor portfolio. Grant writing and grant management experience. Experience with donor management systems. Experience working with faith-based or youth-serving nonprofits.
