Our organization is currently seeking locum coverage for Maternal & Fetal Medicine at a facility located in Michigan.

Position Details:

• Coverage is set to commence on January 1, 2027 , requiring full-time support until approximately January 24, 2027 .
  • Following January, part-time or bi-monthly coverage will be necessary.
• Facility includes a Level III NICU.
• Patient volume: Labor & Delivery/inpatient cases range from 0-5 patients per day, averaging around 2.
• Annual delivery count is approximately 3,000 .
• The Maternal-Fetal Medicine service caters to both high-risk and low-risk obstetric patients.

There may be opportunities for coverage at an additional facility as required - this will be limited to outpatient services, with half-day shifts on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

• One Sonographer and one ultrasound machine, capable of performing up to 8 ultrasounds per day.
• High-Risk Resident Clinic operates half a day each week, typically seeing 4-7 patients.

Work Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with nightly call coverage on weekdays and 24-hour call coverage on weekends (including phone consultations).
• In-house coverage during weekdays for outpatient ultrasound and inpatient consultations.
• Post-January, expected recurring coverage will be approximately twice a month :
  • In-house Thursday and Friday.
  • On-call Saturday and Sunday.
• Please be aware that call-backs are minimal (approximately 1 per call shift, if any).

Clinical Duties:

• Conduct rounds and reviews on inpatient maternal-fetal medicine patients alongside residents.
• Provide inpatient consultations and phone evaluations; in-person assessments available as clinically necessary.
• Supervise residents in the high-risk OB clinic at Warren as required.
• Interpret and manage ultrasound services and related consultations - the locum is expected to interpret ultrasounds.
• No responsibilities for delivery coverage, GYN surgeries, or GYN call coverage are anticipated.

Required Procedures:

• Amniocentesis.
• Cerclage, including rescue cerclage.
• External cephalic version (ECV).

Preferred Procedures:

• Chorionic villus sampling (CVS).
