Overview The Integrated Spine unit combines neurologic and orthopedic spine patients, delivering standardized, high‑quality care across a spectrum of spinal procedures. Role Purpose The Assistant Nurse Manager supports Nurse Managers and direct reports by coordinating patient care, managing performance, overseeing equipment purchasing, and aggregating statistical data. Responsibilities Manage direct reports: hire, train, assign work, evaluate performance, and conduct professional development plans. Ensure department operational goals are met and assist with staffing, revenue, and expense budgets. Oversee patient care according to planned interventions, documenting in accordance with policy. Create and implement collaborative care plans based on assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. Review staff hours versus scheduled hours, adjust staffing, conduct payroll updates, reconcile time cards, and approve coding. Prepare and lead staff communications: huddle agendas and meetings. Determine staffing needs, assign overtime, and recommend annual increases. Interview candidates, conduct performance reviews, issue corrective actions, and ensure compliance. Maintain overall staff productivity and operational goals. Work in a safety‑sensitive environment, maintaining constant alertness. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN). RN license. Minimum of 2–5 years of nursing experience; preferred 5–10 years. Experience supervising with at least 2 years preferred.
