What the Auction Account Executive Does
The Auction Account Executive is responsible for developing new business, building and managing consignor relationships, and guiding clients through the auction process. This role combines outbound business development, inbound sales, account management, and coordination with APAA’s operational teams to maintain an active sales pipeline, close qualified opportunities, and deliver a professional client experience.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Proactively identify, prospect, and engage potential clients to generate new business and consignment opportunities.
- Respond promptly and professionally to inbound sales inquiries received through phone, email, online platforms, referrals, and other lead sources.
- Schedule and conduct client consultations, site visits, and meetings to evaluate opportunities and develop business relationships.
- Present APAA’s auction services, processes, capabilities, and value proposition accurately and professionally.
- Negotiate and close qualified consignor relationships in accordance with established company guidelines and approval requirements.
- Develop and maintain an active sales pipeline while consistently working toward established sales, revenue, and performance goals.
- Track and manage assigned client accounts, ensuring timely communication, follow-through, and issue resolution.
- Maintain clear communication with clients regarding expectations, timelines, consigned assets, project progress, and next steps.
- Coordinate with the Sales Manager, leadership, and internal departments to ensure client expectations align with operational capabilities and timelines.
- Collaborate with department managers on pre-brief planning, post-project debriefs, and reconciliation for off-site projects.
- Oversee and coordinate off-site projects, including estate sales, business liquidations, large-scale consignments, and other client projects as assigned.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to support the effective promotion of client assets and upcoming auction initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and organized CRM records documenting prospects, client interactions, sales activity, agreements, project status, closed business, and other information necessary for sales and commission reporting.
- Maintain strong client relationships that support repeat business, referrals, and APAA’s long-term reputation.
- Perform other duties and projects for APAA as assigned.
Supervisory Role
This position does not have regular direct reports. The Auction Account Executive may provide project-specific coordination, oversight, or direction to employees, contractors, vendors, or off-site teams when supporting client projects.

- Familiarity with CRM systems, Google Workspace, and other sales and communication tools.
- Background in auctions, consignment, liquidation, asset recovery, estate sales, or related industries is a plus.
- Ability to maintain dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Positive, professional, supportive, and solution-oriented approach.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently and heavier items through team lift or appropriate assistance.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and travel to client or project locations as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Previous experience in sales, account management, business development, or a related customer-facing role.
- Demonstrated ability to develop client relationships and generate or close business opportunities.
- Experience working independently toward established sales or performance goals.
- Knowledge of consignment, estate sale, auction, resale, liquidation, or related processes preferred.
- Proficiency with standard business technology, CRM systems, and Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid Alaska driver’s license and ability to travel to client locations as needed.
- Ability to complete required background and reference checks.
Working Conditions & Schedule
This position operates in a fast-paced, client-facing environment and requires regular attendance, adaptability, and professional judgment. The role includes office work, client meetings, site visits, and off-site projects. Evening, weekend, occasional travel, and schedule adjustments may be required based on business needs. Regular Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. (8-hour shift + 1-hour unpaid break)
