Specialty Lab Assistant
$21.5 - $26.85 per hourLabcorp
Labcorp seeks a Lab Assistant for its Portland laboratory facility to handle specimen processing, data entry, and equipment maintenance on a first shift schedule. The role involves preparing clinical samples for testing and maintaining laboratory standards and safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Receive, sort, and prepare clinical specimens for testing and analysis
- Perform data entry and scanning of specimen and patient information
- Monitor laboratory equipment functionality and perform routine maintenance
- Troubleshoot specimen-related issues and replenish bench supplies
- Maintain clean and safe work environment while following Standard Operating Procedures
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Comfortable handling biological specimens with accurate identification
- Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
- Ability to pass standardized color blindness test
- Strong attention to detail and multitasking in fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Prior healthcare, laboratory, or manufacturing production experience preferred
Compensation: $21.50 - $26.85 per hour
