The system automates environmental controls, access control, security devices, video, intercom, fire protection, metering, and lighting control systems. The role includes monitoring for emergency conditions and responding as needed. Responsibilities Plan, install, calibrate, configure, maintain, and repair electronic equipment to support the Capitol Complex integrated environmental, UL fire alarm, access control, security camera, emergency intercom, metering, and lighting systems. Ensure proper operation of all fire alarms and audio systems in the state buildings during emergencies. Perform routine functions on Honeywell EBI Systems and remote controls to minimize downtime. Minimum Qualifications Electrician license: Master Electrician, Journeyman Electrician, Power Limited Electrician, Maintenance Electrician, or Exempt Maintenance Electrician. For candidates without a Power Limited Technician or higher license, registration as an unlicensed individual prior to hire and work under M.S. 326B.33 is required. Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record. Experience installing, maintaining, repairing, and programming environmental, security, and fire alarm control systems. Working knowledge of pneumatic fundamentals that interface with digital controls. Effective communication skills with employees and external vendors. Ability to read and interpret architectural, mechanical, and electrical blueprints for accurate installation and placement of equipment. Problem‑solving skills sufficient to diagnose and repair issues quickly and efficiently. Preferred Qualifications Vocational or technical degree in Electronics. Experience with the installation, operation, programming, and maintenance of commercial security, environmental, and fire alarm control systems. Physical Requirements Pass pre‑employment physical. Minimum requirement: light‑medium CRIT TEST (ABLE TO LIFT 13‑21 LBS FREQUENTLY 100‑300 REPS AN HOUR).
