Recruiter /HR Generalist (Seattle)
$500 per monthThis is a full-time, hybrid role based in Seattle, with an expectation of working in our downtown Seattle office 1-2 days per week.
About Housing Connector
Housing Connector is a tech-powered nonprofit working to make housing more accessible for people who face the greatest barriers to finding a home. We partner with property owners, community organizations, and local systems to reduce those barriers and create more pathways to stable housing.
We're growing our reach, our team, and the ways we support communities across the country. With that growth comes the opportunity to build the people, systems, and practices that will help Housing Connector scale thoughtfully while staying connected to our mission and culture.
About the Role
What You'll Own
Housing Connector is growing, and we're building the People team we need to support what comes next. We're looking for a Recruiter & HR Generalist who can help us continue to raise the bar on how we hire while strengthening the People processes and systems that support our employees and organization.
Recruiting will be a primary focus. You'll lead full-cycle recruiting across the organization, partnering closely with hiring managers to understand what they truly need, shape thoughtful hiring strategies, evaluate talent, and drive searches from role definition through accepted offer. We're looking for someone who brings perspective and judgment to the process, not simply someone who manages the steps. You'll advise hiring managers, challenge assumptions when needed, and help us continue getting better at how we hire.
You'll also play an important role in the day-to-day execution of HR operations and People programs across the employee lifecycle. This role blends thoughtful partnership with hands-on execution, from improving how we work to making sure the details get done well. As the organization grows, you'll have meaningful opportunities to deepen your HR expertise, take on new challenges, and help shape how the People function evolves.
Recruiting & Hiring
- Own full-cycle recruiting from intake through accepted offer, managing the strategy, candidate pipeline, scheduling and coordination, communication, ATS activity, and follow-through needed to keep searches moving.
- Partner with hiring managers to define hiring needs, develop effective hiring strategies and interview processes, challenge assumptions, and guide sound hiring decisions.
- Source, assess, and engage candidates while creating strong, consistent candidate experience.
- Maintain accurate recruiting data and use pipeline and funnel insights to surface risks, inform decisions, and adjust strategy when needed.
- Keep hiring processes moving through proactive communication, strong follow-through, and clear accountability.
HR Operations & People Programs
- Own day-to-day HRIS administration and employee data changes, ensuring accurate and reliable People data.
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding, bringing together hiring managers, IT, People, Accounting, and other partners to create a smooth employee experience.
- Support benefits administration and open enrollment, respond to routine employee questions, and coordinate payroll-related employee changes with accounting.
- Coordinate recurring People programs, including performance management, employee surveys, training and development, and employee events.
- Build and maintain People reporting that helps us understand our workforce and make informed decisions.
- Support the planning and coordination of internal events, special projects, and other People initiatives as needs and priorities evolve.
Help Us Work Better
- Bring fresh perspective and ideas that help us improve how we recruit and support our people as we grow.
- Use data, technology, and AI thoughtfully to simplify processes, solve problems, and help us move faster.
- Spot opportunities and risks and bring forward recommendations rather than waiting for direction.
What You'll Bring
- 3-5 years of experience in recruiting, HR, or a combination of both, with demonstrated experience owning full-cycle recruiting.
- Strong judgment and ownership. You move work forward, know when to make the call, and know when to escalate.
- The confidence to build credibility with hiring managers, offer a point of view, and respectfully push back when needed.
- Excellent communication, organization, prioritization, and follow-through across multiple competing priorities.
- Experience using an ATS and comfort working with HR systems, data, and reporting.
- Curiosity about the broader HR function and an interest in expanding your expertise and impact.
Nice to Have
- HR Generalist experience or exposure to benefits, payroll, performance management, learning and development, or other areas of the employee lifecycle.
- Experience with HRIS, particularly ADP.
- Experience using data, technology, or AI to improve recruiting or People processes.
- Experience working in a growing organization where processes and priorities continue to evolve.
