Overview / Summary


Bring your backup, recovery, and infrastructure support experience into a critical operations environment where data protection, reliability, and recovery readiness are essential.


The Senior Backup & Recovery Engineer will provide L3 backup and recovery support, helping ensure critical systems and data are protected, recoverable, monitored, and aligned to business continuity needs.


Key Responsibilities


• Provide L3 support for backup and recovery platforms.
• Monitor backup jobs, alerts, failures, capacity, and recovery readiness.
• Troubleshoot backup failures and recovery issues.
• Support recovery testing, disaster recovery planning, and audit readiness.
• Work with compute, storage, network, cloud, and security teams to protect critical systems.
• Maintain backup documentation, procedures, schedules, and recovery records.
• Coordinate with vendors for backup platform issues and escalations.
• Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts.
• Support on-call rotation and critical incident response.


Required Qualifications


• 7+ years of infrastructure, systems, backup, or recovery support experience.
• Strong L3 backup and recovery support experience.
• Experience monitoring, troubleshooting, and remediating backup failures.
• Understanding of storage, compute, virtualization, cloud, and disaster recovery dependencies.
• Strong documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to support critical incidents and on-call needs.


Preferred Qualifications


• Experience with enterprise backup tools such as Veeam, Commvault, NetBackup, Rubrik, Cohesity, or similar platforms.
• Healthcare or critical operations experience.
• Disaster recovery, audit, or compliance experience.
• Experience with VMware, cloud backup, or storage platforms.
