Pastry Cook

Hybrid Pastry Cook / Garde Manger

Toasted Hospitality is seeking a skilled and creative cook for a hybrid Pastry and Garde Manger position for The Florian. This role combines pastry preparation and service with cold-station preparation and line responsibilities, which during service come off the same station.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable moving between both stations. This person will work closely with the Executive Chef on menu execution, seasonal changes, and the development of new dishes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare pastry components, desserts, and baked goods according to Florian’s recipes and standards

• Work the pastry station during service

• Prepare and execute Garde Manger dishes on the line

• Complete daily prep for both stations

• Maintain consistent quality, presentation, and portioning

• Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu development and execution

• Assist with seasonal specials and dishes created for shows and events

• Keep workstations clean, organized, and properly stocked

• Follow food-safety, sanitation, labeling, and storage procedures

• Communicate clearly with the kitchen team and support a smooth service

Qualifications

• Professional kitchen experience in pastry, Garde Manger, or a comparable culinary role

• Working knowledge of pastry production and cold-station techniques

• Ability to manage prep responsibilities while staying ready for service

• Strong organization, consistency, and attention to detail

• Ability to follow recipes and contribute thoughtfully to menu development

• Reliable, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen

• Culinary training is helpful but not required

Schedule and Availability

Candidates should generally be available Tuesday through Friday, with additional availability required on show days. Exact hours and scheduling will be discussed during the interview process.
