Make a meaningful impact this summer by supporting students in an engaging Extended School Year (ESY) program at an upper elementary setting. This temporary contract opportunity is ideal for fully onboarded paraprofessionals seeking a rewarding role from July 7th to July 30th, following an orientation on July 6th. You’ll collaborate with dedicated educators and have the chance to provide essential 1:1 or general classroom support for students with special needs.
Monday through Thursday mornings, you’ll work within a supportive team atmosphere, with hours from 8:00 AM to 11:45 AM. This setting offers a fulfilling opportunity to further develop your skills and enrich student learning.
Qualifications:
- Experience as a paraprofessional in a school setting
- Ability to obtain and provide strong positive references prior to contract offer
- PMT training is preferred; willingness to complete mandatory onboarding trainings (DCF, prevention of sexual misconduct against children, and trafficking prevention) if not already certified
- Comfortable supporting both 1:1 student needs and general special education classrooms
- Licensed/certified as required by state or district guidelines
- Professional, reliable, and a proactive communicator
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized or group support to students in special education settings
- Assist teachers with classroom activities, behavior management, and modifications
- Participate in orientation and all required training sessions
- Foster an inclusive and positive learning environment for all students
