CNC SET UP Operator

CNC Machinist – 2nd Shift We're partnering with a well-established manufacturer in the Youngstown area that is looking to add skilled CNC Machinists to its growing team. The company manufactures precision-machined components used in critical industries, including power generation and mining. They are looking for machinists who understand the machining process and can contribute to quality, productivity, and continuous improvement. What You'll Do Set up, operate, and adjust CNC machining equipment Work from blueprints, drawings, and work instructions to produce precision-machined components Perform machine setups, tooling changes, and program adjustments as needed Edit and verify existing CNC programs Select proper tooling, speeds, and feeds for machining operations Inspect finished parts using precision measuring equipment to ensure conformance to specifications Troubleshoot machining and quality issues Complete production and quality documentation Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements What We're Looking For 3+ years of CNC machining experience preferred Ability to perform machine setups independently Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering drawings Strong understanding of machining practices, tooling, tolerances, speeds, and feeds Experience using precision measuring tools, including: Micrometers Calipers Bore Gauges Depth Micrometers Tape Measures Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability Vocational machining training, apprenticeship, or technical education is a plus Experience with Mazak equipment or Mazatrol controls is beneficial but not required This Role Is Ideal For Someone Who: Wants to be a machinist, not just a machine operator Enjoys working with precision components and tight tolerances Takes ownership of setup, quality, and troubleshooting Wants a long-term opportunity with a stable employer Values teamwork, safety, and craftsmanship Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly pay based on experience Overtime opportunities available Shift premium for 2nd shift employees Semi-annual bonus program Additional monetary incentive available for employees who waive company medical coverage Long-term career stability with a respected manufacturer Why Candidates Are Interested Very low employee turnover Most openings occur because of growth or retirements Modern CNC machining environment Opportunity to work with Mazak equipment and Mazatrol controls Hands-on machining work with responsibility and variety Strong leadership team and supportive culture Direct impact on production and operational success 2nd Shift Monday-Friday
