This is a remote position, allowing you to connect with clients in a flexible manner that promotes work-life balance. Our outpatient office serves as the hub for collaboration among health professionals dedicated to geriatric care, while you will have the autonomy to conduct sessions remotely. Your work schedule will typically run from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with opportunities for virtual sessions in response to the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct detailed mental health assessments for elderly residents to identify their unique care requirements, ensuring tailored support for each individual.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions aimed at addressing emotional challenges and coping strategies linked to aging and significant life transitions.

• Collaborate closely with a cohesive healthcare team to develop comprehensive, individualized care plans for geriatric clients, integrating insights from various disciplines.

• Lead grief and loss counseling sessions for residents and their families, equipping them with tools to navigate end-of-life concerns.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your role will focus on counseling elderly clients dealing with a variety of emotional and mental health issues, including grief, depression, anxiety, and adjustment problems related to aging. You will remain attuned to the diverse cultural backgrounds of your clients, ensuring culturally sensitive care that respects their values and life experiences.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.

• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification in New York State.

• A minimum of 3 years of recent experience in geriatric mental health counseling.

Compensation and Benefits\n
