Location: Morris County, NJ

Work Arrangement: Hybrid — 3 days onsite / 2 days remote

Engagement: Temporary / Contract

Position Overview

A well-established organization is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support a financial systems implementation. This role will work closely with Finance, IT, business stakeholders, and external implementation partners to understand business needs, document requirements, analyze existing processes, and support the successful implementation of a financial system.

The ideal candidate has experience supporting a financial systems, ERP, or enterprise business systems implementation and can bridge the gap between business users and technical teams. A strong understanding of core financial processes and the ability to translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with Finance, IT, and business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements.
• Review existing financial processes and workflows, identifying gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Translate business needs into functional requirements, process documentation, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Serve as a liaison between Finance stakeholders, technical teams, and external implementation partners to ensure alignment on business requirements and system functionality.
• Support financial systems design, configuration discussions, data migration, and integration activities.
• Develop and maintain process flows, business requirements documentation, and functional specifications.
• Participate in system testing, including test scenario development, user acceptance testing (UAT), defect tracking, and issue resolution.
• Work with business users to validate system functionality and ensure the solution meets operational and reporting needs.
• Support user readiness, training documentation, go-live preparation, and post-implementation stabilization.
• Communicate business impacts, requirements gaps, and outstanding issues to relevant stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of business analysis experience supporting technology, financial systems, or enterprise business applications.
• Experience supporting at least one financial systems, ERP, or comparable enterprise business systems implementation.
• Working knowledge of core financial processes, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting.
• Proven experience gathering requirements, documenting business processes, and translating business needs into functional specifications.
• Experience supporting system testing, UAT, defect resolution, and implementation activities.
• Ability to work effectively with Finance, IT, business stakeholders, and external implementation partners.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to identify process gaps, assess business impacts, and recommend practical solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with enterprise financial management, ERP, or financial reporting platforms.
• Familiarity with financial data migration, system integrations, and data validation.
• Experience with process mapping, workflow analysis, and business process improvement.
• Experience supporting system implementations across multiple departments or business units.
• Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or other implementation methodologies.
