Operations Manager

Transdev provides a broad range of services for the client’s autonomous driving testing and development efforts. The Operations Manager serves as the Transdev operations liaison, working with client and Transdev employees to evaluate and interact with vehicle drivers and their Operations team, coaching, mentoring, disciplining, hiring, and terminating staff as necessary. The manager is accountable for shift performance, compliance with processes, training, system emergency responses, coordination with other shifts, and driving process improvements. Key Responsibilities Supervise the daily activity of the Operations Supervisor to ensure efficient operation of the shift Drive completion of special projects and programs assigned by the Senior Operations Manager Attend meetings with the client to represent the Senior Operations Manager or other functional managers Communicate clearly with Transdev management and the client accordingly Support the client’s operations leadership in daily dispatch management, mission assignment, leading meetings, and stakeholder communication Participate in Lean/Kaizen and other Operational Excellence initiatives Interpret metrics, identify opportunities, and implement actions to drive results Ensure compliance with global process standards and work on continuous improvement initiatives Perform vehicle driver safety evaluation ride checks, observe drivers on route/test track, prescribe retraining, and manage the performance-based pay program for all subordinate employees Coordinate, monitor, and supervise subordinate activities, informing other management personnel about operational/personnel problems and offering resolution ideas Ensure daily operation processes (assignments, shift egress, out-of-office management, pre-briefs, debriefs) are conducted as expected Respond to service problems, outages, rerouting, accidents, and incidents to restore service, supporting drivers in accident reports and post-accident testing according to policy Interact with and assist passengers as necessary Investigate and respond to unsafe location or situation reports, making recommendations or changes to resolve the issue Develop and schedule program work plans with client staff, oversee daily operations, and coordinate program activities to determine priorities Maintain routine records and perform clerical work related to property operation Maintain confidentiality of all information Perform any other duties as assigned Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or 2+ years of operations experience leading teams Preferred: Degree in Engineering, Operations, or a related field; at least 2 years of relevant experience desired, but not required; some supervisory experience is required Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Knowledge of service area and ability to read a map or digital map directions Ability to use a computer to generate reports and schedules Ability to supervise others and make quality business decisions regarding operations Ability to read, understand, and interpret system operating rules, regulations, policies, phases, and routes Good written and oral communication skills Ability to organize and perform work efficiently; strong analytical skills and attention to detail Travel up to 20% of the time Must be on call and responsive for 24/7 operations Work flexible schedule/shift/area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays; standing and walking for up to 10 hours during shifts Physical Requirements Long periods of standing, walking, and sitting Use hands to finger, handle, or feel; speak and hear; climb stairs or ladders Occasionally reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl Majority of work is indoors and in air conditioned or well‑ventilated facilities May work in extreme heat and cold, and in damp environment with moderate noise Occasionally lift or move up to 45 pounds Use close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus Pre-Employment Requirements Must be 21 years of age All employees must satisfactorily complete a pre‑employment drug screen and background check; safety sensitive positions may require a physical screening Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future Must successfully pass a pre‑employment drug screen Employees must maintain an acceptable driving record suitable to be approved to drive as part of their regular duties Benefits Competitive compensation package (minimum $112,320 – maximum $135,200) Vacation: minimum of two (2) weeks Sick days: 5 days Holidays: 6 days Other standard benefits: 401(k) retirement plan, medical, dental and vision, life insurance, short‑term disability, voluntary long‑term disability Drug-Free Workplace Transdev maintains a drug‑free workplace.
