Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM Job Overview We are seeking a Billing Specialist to review and analyze carrier freight bills, proactively identify billing errors and duplicate charges, and facilitate accurate and timely billing of customer orders. This is a specialty billing role that requires strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively with internal teams, customers, and transportation providers. Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze carrier freight bills for accuracy.
- Identify and proactively resolve billing errors and duplicate charges.
- Facilitate accurate billing of customer orders.
- Communicate with internal and external contacts to resolve outstanding tasks and issues.
- Ensure billing issues are addressed promptly and the appropriate parties are informed.
- Maintain high-quality service levels when working with internal and external clients.
- Communicate with various internal departments to resolve issues preventing orders from being billed.
- Partner with transportation providers to obtain required documentation for customer billing.
- Develop an understanding of internal systems and technologies used in daily billing activities.
- Help improve the efficiency of the billing cycle from carrier freight bill through customer payment .
- Identify opportunities to improve existing billing processes and workflows.
- Keep customer satisfaction at the center of billing and quality processes.
- At least 1 year of experience in one or more of the following:
- Audit
- Accounts Receivable
- Accounts Payable
- Load Planning
- Transportation
- Logistics
- Associate degree in Business, Transportation, Logistics , or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Office , particularly Excel.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to present clear, organized, and thorough information and data to the appropriate audience.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
